Colors ("the app") is made by Tapget. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information. It is short because the app collects very little.
In one sentence: your camera feed, your test results and your name never leave your device, and we have no server that stores anything about you.
Everything you create in Colors is stored only in the app's own storage on your phone:
Your test results — the colour-vision type and severity the test estimates, and the plate answers used to work it out.
Names you enter — optional, and only so results can be told apart when several people take the test on the same phone.
Saved colour profiles for the people you have tested.
App settings and how much of the free camera preview you have used.
This information is never uploaded, never backed up to us, and never shared with anyone. We cannot see it. Deleting the app, or tapping Clear all data in Settings, removes it permanently.
The live camera filter runs entirely on your device's GPU, frame by frame.
No frame, image or video is ever recorded, stored or transmitted.
Frames exist only in memory for as long as they are on screen.
When you tap Share, the app creates a single image on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose a destination yourself, and whatever you then share is governed by the privacy policy of the app you send it to.
The camera permission is used solely to display the live filter. It is never used in the background.
Colors contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no tracking pixels and no third-party trackers. We do not build a profile of you, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal information with anyone for advertising. We do not use your data to train machine-learning models.
If you buy a Colors Premium subscription, that involves two companies:
Apple processes the payment. We never see your card, your billing address or your Apple Account. Apple's handling of that data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat, our billing provider, records the purchase so your Premium access can be restored on a new device. To do this it receives a random, anonymous identifier generated on your device, the purchase and receipt details from Apple, and basic technical data such as device model, operating system version, country and IP address.
RevenueCat never receives your name, your test results, your saved profiles, or anything at all from your camera. The anonymous identifier is not linked to your real identity, and we do not attempt to link it. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
These are the only network requests the app makes.
Colors is for education and fun. The test is a screening estimate — screen brightness, ambient light and display calibration all affect the result. It is not a medical device, and nothing it shows is a diagnosis. For a proper colour-vision assessment, see an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
Colors is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to hold or delete.
Since we hold no personal data about you on any server, there is no account to access, export or delete, and no data of yours for us to hand over. You are always in full control: everything the app knows lives on your device and can be erased at any time via Settings → Clear all data, or by deleting the app.
If you are in the EEA or UK, this means we act as a data controller only for the limited, anonymous subscription data described above, which we process on the basis of performing our contract with you (providing the subscription you purchased).
If a future version adds accounts, sync or anything that changes what leaves your device, that will be opt-in and this policy will be updated before the feature ships. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
